What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will work with study teams to deploy innovative data solutions to better inform clinical trial design decisions and clinical operations. The role will be instrumental in engaging with Internal and external subject matter experts to define the scope and requirements of machine learning and other advanced analytic solutions. The role will partner with data engineers and scientists to develop the solutions using relevant data assets, including clinical trial data and real world data. Additionally, the role will be responsible for interpreting the outcomes of these complex analytics and contextualizing the results to the study team and other stakeholders.
The Applied Data Solutions Senior Manager joins the Operational Design Team within the Clinical Program Operations (CPO) function which is rapidly expanding to deliver our extensive pipeline of products moving into clinical development.
Collect business requirements/user stories/hypotheses to build or enhance advanced analytic tools and visualizations
Translate analysis outputs and contextualize results to study teams and other stakeholders to maximize business value
Potential to provide hands on development and programming of analytics and visualization solutions that support clinical trial solutions enabling Amgen clinical trial execution and clinical data analysis.
Execute change management activities to ensure cross-functional adoption of advanced analytic deliverables & increase data literacy in the organization
Facilitate communication of information on status and roadblocks to team members and partners
Coordinates, prioritizes and efficiently allocates team resources to data solutions projects: plans resources proactively, anticipates and actively manages change, sets stakeholder expectations as required, identifies operational risks and enables the team to drive issues to resolution

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of relevant experience
Or
Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
9 years work experience in life sciences or medically related field, including 6 years of biopharmaceutical clinical research experience obtained working on clinical trials at a biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO company
Experience in using data and analytics to inform clinical trial design
Experience with clinical data sources and understanding of how/when to apply them (fit for purpose approach)
Ability to integrate and synthesize data as it relates to operational planning and apply to facilitate data-driven decision making
Understands how data and analytics can inform study design and operational planning
Leadership capabilities to guide and influence others
A consistent track record in leading cross-functional teams to deliver innovative analytic software solutions
A working knowledge of statistics and / or machine learning
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment and implement across multiple urgent deliverables
Excellent facilitation, influencing, and negotiation skills
Understanding of computer systems architecture and software design

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
