JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State is currently seeking a frontline fundraiser with strong written communication skills in the role of Assistant Director of Arts Advancement to engage alumni and friends as partners in support the College of Arts and Architecture. As a member of the College of Arts and Architecture and the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, you can play an integral role in Penn State’s future and contribute to one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country.

Charged with developing and implementing strategy for fundraising throughout the College including membership appeals, annual appeals, crowdfunding, and grant writing. This position reports directly to a Director of Arts Advancement, and receives direction from and works closely with the Director of Development and Alumni Relations on college fundraising objectives and priorities.

The Assistant Director of Arts Advancement (Advancement and Giving Specialist II) will

  • Develop and execute plans for evaluation, cultivation, and solicitation of prospects for annual gifts; communicate with donors

  • Establish, implement, and evaluate plans to solicit philanthropic support

  • Assess, cultivate, solicit, and steward gift prospects

  • Promote a broad understanding of the philanthropic priorities of the university to academic leadership, volunteers, alumni, and employees

  • Manage and prepare proposal, solicitation, and cultivation materials

  • Collate and interpret available data research to develop relationships with potential donors

  • Manage and conduct selected fundraising activities, including direct mail, telemarketing, e-communications, personal solicitations, and event planning as assigned

  • Implement annual giving, membership, donor acquisition, grant writing, annual appeals, and crowdfunding efforts throughout the College of Arts and Architecture

  • Manage processes related to gift/grant tracking and acknowledgment, fundraising communications, as well as analysis and analytics related to fund development.

  • Work collaboratively in the fundraising process with colleagues throughout the Division of Development and Alumni Relationns

    This position will be filled as an Advancement and Giving Specialist – Intermediate Professional . This position requires a minimum of a Bachelors Degree and 1+ year(s) of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Operation of a motor vehicle as part of the position’s duties and a valid driver's license are required. Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check, in addition to standard background checks, is also required.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
