What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Director for Capital Markets Product Control, this role will involve working closely together with stakeholders to drive best in class daily Profit and Loss (P&L) reporting and decomposition, as well as the performance of Independent Price Verification (IPV).

The Product Control Team is accountable for the integrity and timeliness of gross revenue for management records, reporting and financial instrument valuation; namely Profit and Loss (P&L) reconciliation and decomposition to trader’s Same Day Estimates (SDE). The Senior Manager will also be responsible for providing coaching, training, and oversight for a team of Analysts on the daily and monthly execution of various procedures.

How you’ll succeed

  • Relationship management – You have good teamwork, partnership and relationship building skills sufficient to act in a collaborative manner given team members and stakeholders different backgrounds and experiences. You will liaise daily with Finance, the FX Options and Commodities Trading Front Office and other Capital Markets stakeholder groups.

  • Corroboration – You will provide and review related supporting activities to Front Office, Risk Management and Finance, which includes decomposition of P&L by risk factors to ensure business partners, understand the underlying drivers of P&L. Review and consolidate daily commentary and analyses for stakeholders

  • Management skill – You have highly developed organization and prioritization skills in order to handle multi-tasking, balancing and prioritizing a number of daily tasks and P&L problems given a work environment of increased expectations around control, service, and accounting transparency. Monitor the effectiveness of the daily control procedures designed to detect an error or omission in daily trade reporting to ensure accuracy of reporting.

  • P&L and valuation controls – You will ensure accurate, complete, and timely P&L reporting to relevant stakeholder groups. The team will understand and fully attribute the daily P&L in the context of market conditions and valuation changes. Month-end IPV will be executed with transparent stakeholder communication and continuous intra-month methodology enhancements

  • Transformation – You will participate in and drive continuous improvements and assist in the development of new systems and processes to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department. You will collaborate to determine business needs and the analytical or financial support required to aid in the effective business decision making process and provide input on issues and insights on new systems initiatives.

  • You can demonstrate experience in concepts and processes for the PnL reporting of complex and/or sensitive nature; derivative products, customized securities, cross currencies, forwards, options and other vanilla and non-standard derivative transactions. You will have 5+ years of relevant Product Control work experience
