What You’ll Be Doing

As a Sr. Consultant, Governance and Control, you will join CIBC’s Cloud Engineering & Transformation (CE&T) to support OSFI B-13 Sox and Non-Sox related control testing for all of CIBC’s applications and infrastructure. You'll will be responsible to lead the continuous compliance efforts to support our program initiatives to introduce preventative and detective control monitoring across all Cloud and On-Premises environments and provide an independent overview of periodic quality assurance reviews involving regulatory compliance activities.

The role applies advanced understanding of inherently high-risk process for all segments, utilizing strong problem solving skills to investigate, analyze, and provide informed recommendations on compliance issues, quality operational controls, risk assessment, and control activities.

How You’ll Succeed

Relationship Building - You will providing professional support and oversight across CE&T to ensure risk management and control activities monitored and risk items are remediated in a timely manner. You will liaise and interact with our internal partners as part of the daily management of your day to day deliverables.

Administration & Analytical Thinking - Provide analysis and support to initiatives to support resources across CE&T. Provide support to all of CE&T in understanding, identifying, and addressing all applicable process, standards, regulations, and CIBC policies. This includes partnering with various support groups specific to Governance Risk & Controls to understand implications, and create and lead action plans to resolve identified risks that affect CE&T.

Business Acumen - You have a good understanding of effective IT Governance and control frameworks such as Value Delivery, Strategic Alignment, Performance Management, and Risk Management.

Audit Management - Assist with audit engagements to ensure that requests for information are responded to in a timely manner. This included end-to-end management during the lifecycle of all audits.

Risk Management - Ensuring that identified risks within CE&T are managed and remediated as per the documented action plan, including addressing issues raised by regulatory agencies (e.g. OSFI) and other CIBC governance areas such as Internal Audit, 3rd Party Risk Management Privacy, and GORM concerning compliance-related matters and escalated issues.

Control Monitoring - On a quarterly basis, you will be assigned a number of technology controls with various infrastructure components and document the test results with appropriate evidence gathered to satisfy the control steps or otherwise. Once completed you will forward test results for review and communicate deficiencies to the Director, Governance and Control.

In addition, you will also:

• Actively and independently monitor compliance with governing activities for CE&T, against a pre-defined set of criteria.

• Involved in report generation concerning the adequacy and effectiveness of processes for compliance, as well as the status control or compliance matters identified internally.

• Evaluate the impact of introducing new CIBC policies/standards that need to be adhered to within CE&T.

• Provide input, analysis, and/or perspective in the design, development, communication, and maintenance of processes and procedures.

Who You Are

You demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of experience in Technology Audit, Controls and Governance, identifying gaps, assessing controls and making recommendations for improvements with a working knowledge of requirements of CIBC’s Control Framework. It’s an asset if you have experience within OSFI B13 regulations. You're a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing CISSP, CISA or CIA. It’s an asset if you have a technology background or have supported a Technology from a Governance standpoint with a focus on the client.
