Intuit Senior Software Developer in Toronto, Ontario

Overview

Come join the Intuit Platform team as a Software Developer - Frontend development. We are looking for innovative problem solvers with proven experience in building the nextgen API management platform.

The Software Engineer will be a developer in building the next generation API management platform used by thousands of developers to build, orchestrate and manage APIs.

The successful candidate will have a proven history in software development on large scale highly available, resilient platforms. This person will be a software development engineer with a "hands on" experience in an agile environment. The person will be customer requirements focused, seeking constantly to understand and evolve products per the customer's needs.

What you'll bring

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, object model, DOM manipulation and event handlers, data structures, algorithms, and JSX

  • Complete understanding of ReactJS and its main fundamentals like JSX, Virtual DOM, component lifecycle, REDUX etc.

  • Understanding of RESTful APIs/GraphQL, HTML/CSS, ES6 (variables and scoping, array methods), code versioning tools like GIT, etc., popular frontend development tools, CI/CD tools, DevOps, performance testing frameworks.

  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written EnglishRelevant experience designing and developing scalable software

  • Driven, motivated team player with a Get Stuff Done mentality!

  • Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Prefer to have open-source contribution experience

How you will lead

  • Gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning

  • Develop functional and appealing web- and mobile-based applications based on usability

  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

  • Maintain graphic standards and branding throughout the product’s interface and assist fellow engineers with coding and troubleshooting

  • Build well-tested high-quality tools to improve Developer Productivity and Developer Experience

  • Acting as the technical subject matter expert: Mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems

  • Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams including product management, QA/QE, various product lines, and/or business units to drive forward results

  • Demonstrate a passion for developing well architected, elegant, web and/or mobile apps

  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies

  • Engage with the open-source community, collaborate with third-party partners and contributors

  • Evangelize the product through blogs, social media, demos and presentations at conferences, and meet-ups
