Position Overview

We are looking for a passionate software engineer to join our platform team in Pune, India. Our organisational ecosystem comprises Cloud services. Autodesk Platform Services (APS) is a cloud service platform that powers custom and pre-built applications, integrations, and innovative solutions. It offers APIs and web services to unlock the values of our customers' Design and Make data, and connects custom and end-to-end workflows. It is an opportunity to work on the APIs and services that directly impact the millions of users of Autodesk products.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Engineering, you will contribute to the development of Autodesk Platform APIs, which are the building blocks for next-generation design apps. In this hybrid role you will be part of an Agile product team building world-class cloud software applications and services. You will work in a global organisation and collaborate with local and remote colleagues from various disciplines like business, engineering, operations, support, etc.

You will work with highly motivated and talented software engineers. As part of the team, you will learn, teach, grow, and help find innovative solutions to sophisticated and modern engineering problems. You will make critical choices, tackle hard problems, and improve the platform’s reliability, resiliency, and scalability.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about working in a team, can own and deliver long-term projects to completion, is detail and quality oriented, and excited about the prospects of having a big impact within Autodesk.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, and testing of features/functions delivered via applications and services

• Produce clean, secure, maintainable, and well-documented code

• Ensure your applications and services are highly available and reliable

• Hands on software development for products that will perform at scale, be supportable, and be extensible.

• Perform code reviews, evaluate implementations, and provide feedback for tool improvements

• Automate processes where possible and adopt new technologies when needed.

• Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

• 2-5 years of experience in software development

• Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, data structures, and algorithms

• Strong overall programming skills; able to write modular, maintainable code in Javascript/Typescript/Node.js stack

• Experience with various JavaScript frameworks and SDK development

• Hands-on experience consuming, designing, and implementing REST APIs

• Excellent debugging skills and troubleshoot complex software issues

• Problem solver with excellent written and interpersonal skills; ability to make sound, complex recommendations in a fast-paced, technical environment

• Humble, collaborative, team player, willing to step up and support your colleagues

• Effective communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills

• Good command of English (Speaking, Writing and Reading)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Java stack (Java8+, Spring, Spring Boot)

• Experience with GraphQL

• Experience in database technologies e.g. MySQL, MongoDB, SQLLite

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/ECS environments

• Experience defining and building CI/CD processes and working with common CI/CD tools (Jenkins/Spinnaker, etc.)

• Experience in logging and monitoring technologies such as Splunk, New Relic, Datadog etc

• Familiar with non-functional testing such as load, performance and resiliency testing

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a Scrum framework
