Josh Gibson Foundation, Inc. Youth Program Coordinator in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Who We Are:

The Josh Gibson Foundation is a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit that honors the legacy of Negro League Baseball legend Josh Gibson through advocacy, education, and sports. Using lessons from Josh Gibson's life, the history of Negro League Baseball, and the lived experiences of local leaders, JGF inspires youth and young adults to serve their community and pursue their dreams.

Job Summary:

The Program Coordinator, reporting to the Executive Director, will plan, implement, and expand JGF's educational and recreational programs, including its After-School Programs, Cultural Programs, STEAM Program, Business of Sports Academy, and Boys2Men Mentoring Programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Director in developing JGF's year-round programs
  • Plan and participate in JGF's programs, events, and fundraisers
  • Support the Executive Director in establishing program goals and reporting progress
  • Work closely with local partners, volunteers, participants, and participants' families to ensure that programs further JGF's mission and meet the needs of the community
  • Track and manage data concerning program participation and quality
  • Prepare quarterly reports, newsletter updates, and other public communications
  • Work with the Executive Director and Board to maintain a positive media presence

Qualifications:

  • One to three years of experience planning and implementing youth programs
  • Child Protective Services Law Clearances (Act 33, 34, and 73)
  • Proficiency with standard office technology, including Microsoft Office 365
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning, problem solving, and implementation skills
  • Familiarity working with racially and economically diverse populations
  • Comfort working independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills

Hourly Pay Range: $17-$22    *Hourly pay range varies based on relevant skills, experience, knowledge, and education.*

Work Schedule: Part-Time
