The NOS First Level SatCom Manager Manager is responsible for overseeing and integrating team activities across a broad range of Information Technologies including infrastructure design, terrestrial network troubleshooting & management, Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum design & monitoring, system administration, application development, database management, and end-to-end information assurance. The NOS Manager will also help guide project and process plan direction, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals. Work hours are typically day shift, Monday thru Friday, eight hours per day. Customer and team demands may require occasional work hour adjustments outside this window. It is expected that the NOS Manager be on-site during work hours. Short-term business travel may be occasionally required. Position is located in Kent, WA.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team that applies telecommunications/network (voice, video, and data) knowledge to analyze, select, build, assemble, test/certify evaluate, prepare, and deploy SatCom network delivery systems, subsystems, and components.

  • Recruit, hire, train. coach, counsel, mentor, and evaluate NOS team personnel.

  • Oversee team execution. Resolve technical and personnel issues.

  • Focus team priorities to respond to support requests initiated from the NOC.

  • Oversee technical security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability assessment, and continuity of operations plan (COOP) for the Boeing Global SatCom Services operational infrastructure

  • Develop and implement team technical policy and best practice guides.

  • Ensure implemented technical approaches and deliverables meet customer, company, industry, regulatory, and quality requirements.

  • Evaluate project plans and budgets to ensure feasibility and that they are in the customer’s best interests.

  • Determine whether projects or processes are continued or discontinued.

  • Approve revisions to team products, procedures, and policies.

  • Coordinate NOS maintenance and enhancement activities with the NOC manager.

  • Partner with Boeing Commercial SatCom Service (BCSS) on sharing resources for system troubleshooting, infrastructure sustainment, and equipment refresh

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience) :

  • Able to work any shift based on the needs of the operation

  • Willing and able to travel domestically 10% of the time

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams and projects implementing Information Technology solutions for Engineering and Product support

  • 1+ years of experience in production operations or a support role involving end user/customer support for IT systems

  • Less than 1 year of experience with satellite communications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) :

  • Familiarity with Boeing IT procedures and processes

  • Experience with Earned Value Management and managing schedules and budgets

  • Experience working in a global team environment

  • Experience working at a global SatCom company

  • Cyber Security and System Architecture certifications

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $131,750 – $178,250
