• This role assumes responsibility for product conceptualization for the Electrification domain for Vehicle applications.

• It specifically focuses on providing leadership on conceptualizing the form, shape and function on the mechanical components, housing and electrical components of design intensiveness.

• This position deals with PDU / DC - DC Converter / Inverter / Battery Disconnect Units and On & off board chargers of AC & DC domains.

• The incumbent shall be agile & comprehend customer requirements and converts them into technical specifications to derive the design envelope in size, function & performance and generates concepts in tandem with multi-disclipnary team.

• He / She is responsible for pre-development, customer pursuits, technical proposal that meets & exceeds customer requirements and supports S&M team on promtional activities.

• Possess strong knowledge about the vehicle architectures of Battery Electric Vehicles, Hybrids and ICE based ones.

• Possess strong understanding of electrical & electronic components, circuits and basic requirements of electrical grounding, noise and interferences

• Knowledgeable about the materials for housings, sealing requirements and IP standards including validation methodologies

• Ability to generate requirements from the customer SOR regaring the enclosures, cooling, validation (functional & performance) and sustainability

• Size and select standard components (fuse, contactors, connectors, battery vents, interconnects) per application & customer specific requirements

• Develop solid understanding of the PCB assembly methods, vibration supports, thermal loads and methods to safeguard them.

• Lead solution discussion with customer's engineering to provide SOR compliance, technical concept and overall integration in Vehicle system

Qualifications:

Requirement:

• Masters / Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical / Mechatronics)

• 12 years of experience with multinational automotive Tier-1 in hands-on technology & product development

Skills:

• E/E circuitry understanding, Selection of fuse, connector, contactor, current & voltage sensors, vehicle architectures (BEV & xEV).

• Application engineering, RFI / RFQ process know-how, demonstrated skills in technical solution development for highly engineered EV systems

• Interpersonal skills, high say-do ratio, sensible & assertive work style with international cross funcational & cross cultural teams.

• Support sales and marketing teams in promotion of EATON portfolio to EV applications, represent EATON in customer tech days

• Provide engineering inputs to cross functional teams during RFI / RFQ and pre-development pursuits phase and assist in cost estimation, finding alternatives to bought out components.

• Develop professional rapport with technical forums such as SAE / IEEE to stay on top of regulatory and safety trends.

• Develop understanding of current solutions, competing technologies employed by customers for high voltage safety critical operations
