JOB SUMMARY: Assists in the packaging and delivery procedures of the Home Delivered Meal Program. Assists with program operations including in-home home delivered meal assessments and reassessments, food handling, customer and volunteer contact and administrative support. Works with employment programs and volunteers to assure meals are packaged and delivered in an efficient and timely fashion. Essential Duties MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Completes in-person applications and assessments for participant eligibility. Assists with maintaining accurate program documentation. Provides customer service to new participants, follows up on missing persons, and updates records as appropriate in the ADRC Customer databases. Supports the development of delivery routes and updates. Assists with packing and delivering meals to Home Delivered Meal customers. Educates about and connects customers to the ADRC Nutrition and other ADRC Programs. Provides support to volunteers, Senior Employment Training participants, and other team members. Provides coverage for the Home Delivered Meal Supervisor and other nutrition program areas when needed. Ensures the Home Delivered meal site and equipment used in the packaging and delivery of the food meets sanitation guidelines. Assists with the training and monitoring of volunteers to package and deliver meals. Completes ongoing inventories to assure adequate nutrition supplies are on site. Participates in the quarterly information and planning meetings for the Nutrition Program. Participates in All Agency meetings. Participates in the planning and goal setting efforts of the ADRC. Participates in the work setting as a team player. Has a \"Duty to Report\" during a community emergency/disaster according to the ADRC Emergency Preparedness Plan. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of quality food service standards and specifications. Knowledge of proper food storage and food service equipment. Knowledge of persons who are older and adults with disabilities and their needs. Knowledge of general office procedures. Knowledge of and ability to utilize a computer and the required software specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to understand and practice the confidential nature of the position. Ability to work well with co-workers and volunteers. Ability to relate to people in a friendly, patient, and positive manner. Ability to understand and practice the confidential nature of the position. Ability to understand and complete written and oral instructions. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to relate to clients, with respect and address difficult situations in a tactful manner. Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to lift 45 pounds. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lifting 45 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Extended periods of sitting; intermittent standing, walking, and driving. Using hand(s) for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, and operating controls. Occasional bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, reaching, and grappling. Communicating orally in a clear manner. Disting ishing sounds at various frequencies and volumes.
