KTVT-TV, the CBS owned and operated station in Dallas-Fort Worth is seeking a Freelance Meteorologist. This position is approximately 5+ months in length. The ideal candidate will combine strong on-air skills with a great understanding and passion for meteorology. Must have severe weather experience.

Other duties include: working with a team of meteorologists and executing station strategy; writing / preparing forecasts; producing graphics to tell the weather story across multiple platforms, strong social media presence. The candidate will also be required to periodically write and report weather related stories for newscasts.

Successful candidate should have:

• On-air weathercasting experience within a TV Station

• A degree in meteorology or related science.

• Strong writing skills for broadcast and digital platforms

• Be comfortable working on camera and in front of a chroma-key

• Ability to use augmented reality in weather segments is a plus

• Ability to provide continuous live severe weather coverage across all platforms
