Job Description Summary

The Point of Care Ultrasound business develops traditional console as well as portable/handheld ultrasound equipment, that is both cost effective and elegant. Our mission is to enable clinicians to confidently assess patient conditions in diverse clinical environments, including at the point of care and in GP offices.

The Program Manager directs a virtual cross-functional engineering development team. The position drives clarity by defining and prioritizing the program objectives, critical success factors and deliverables for the team.

In this role, you will be responsible for wing-to-wing execution of technical projects to deliver high quality outcomes to internal and/or external customers. Responsible to work with functional owner to define requirements and collaborate with technical team (internal/external) for the project initiatives to ensure delivery on time, within scope and budget also with desired quality. You will ensure project management practices are followed and improved as needed. Additionally, the Program Manager motivates the team and drives a sense of urgency on meeting program commitments.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business and functional partners and technology leadership in specifying requirements.

  • Driving product planning and multi-generational product/platform roadmap execution

  • Cross-functional project execution leadership including (but not limited to) concept discussion, program execution, clinical and pilot trials, and product field delivery.

  • Working closely with product definition team in order to drive product direction along with core team members.

  • Working with customers to solicit product feedback and leading cross-functional teams to drive customer support.

  • Define execution plan and approach based on project scope, expected timeline and available budget/resources.

  • Cross-functional project execution leadership including (but not limited to) concept discussion, program execution, clinical and pilot trials, and product field delivery.

  • Working with customers to solicit product feedback and leading cross-functional teams to drive customer support.

  • Working with the Business Team and Program leadership team to deliver quality products on time, within budget and with competitive features.

  • Facilitate convergence of functional and technical knowledge

  • Work with technical team often comprising of members of separate organizations to coordinate day-to-day execution as per outlined plan.

  • Cooperate with and manage external vendors as required.

  • Ensure pre-defined project management processes and practices are followed. Drive simplification and improvement as necessary.

  • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required.

  • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project.

  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting.

  • Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations.

  • Track project outcomes realization and customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure lessons learned are collected.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/or related field of study.

  • 10+ years Industry experience as an engineer/project leader within the appropriate field of study.

  • 5 years’ experience in project leadership within engineering environment.

  • Experience in design and development of software systems/products or medical systems/devices.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work harmoniously within a team as both a leader and an individual contributor.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with technical & business leadership team to implement product development in global matrix environment.

  • Exposure to software development and intricacies in Product development in Software based products is a must.

  • Demonstrated execution at meeting project goals while satisfying quality, performance, schedule, and budget CTQ’s.

  • Demonstrated competency in providing leadership and direction to cross-functional program aspects and resources.

  • Experience partnering with global teams.

  • Demonstrated customer focus evaluating decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, creates processes with customer viewpoint and partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives.

  • Good analytical and strong problem-solving skills -communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve, creates actionable strategies and operational plans.

Quality Specific Goals:

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

  • Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Control FDRs and NPI program milestones

  • Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives

  • Develop an open quality culture within the organization that fosters issue discussion and decision-making based on quality and compliance objectives

Desired

  • Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent (defined as 12 years progressive experience within engineering, science, or related field, including 8 years project leadership experience within SW development or research development)

  • Strategic planner and thinker with ability to drive change across the segment products.

  • Sound technical and domain experience in at least one functional technology area.

  • Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire NPI cycle.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent knowledge in engineering, program management and business planning processes having experience with the full product lifecycle.

  • Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task.

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation.

  • Demonstrated LEAN skills.

  • Experience in mobility platforms like Android, iOS & other mobility related platforms.

  • Experience working in Cloud related applications like AWS, Azure etc., would be an added advantage.
